Today is Oscar Wilde's 165th birthday and to celebrate I have recorded a free audiobook for LibriVox.org. The Oscar Wilde Calendar is a collection of wit and wisdom by the Lord of Language, edited by Wildean scholar Stuart Mason. Wilde once complained that "most modern calendars mar the sweet simplicity of our lives by reminding us that each day that passes is the anniversary of some perfectly uninteresting event." Today is the anniversary of a date I feel certain Wilde would agree is far from uninteresting, and The Oscar Wilde Calendar is the perfect way to commemorate it (or, at the very least, add some sweetness to our lives).
